Father's Day Gift Ideas for Every Kind of Dad
Giving is the whole reason Little Miss Moffitt exists, so putting together a Father's Day gift guide is my favorite kind of homework. The fun part is matching the gift to the person, and dads are famously tricky. They will tell you they want nothing and mean it, right up until they open something good.
So here are real ideas for the dad on your list, grouped by the kind of dad he is, every one of them something he will actually use, eat, or show off. Shipping cutoffs are at the bottom so it gets there in time.
For the dad who has everything
He buys what he wants the day he wants it, so another gadget just goes in a drawer. Two things beat a gadget. Give him time instead of an object: tickets to see his team, a tee time at the course he likes, a tasting at a nearby distillery or brewery. And give him something that disappears, like a box of Casey's Dark Chocolate Salted Caramel Bars he would never order for himself. Pair the two and you have covered the afternoon and the dessert.
For the grill master
He runs the cookout and has opinions about charcoal. The gifts he will actually use are the small upgrades: a good instant-read thermometer, a fresh set of long tongs, a bag of hickory or applewood chips. Then hand him something he did not have to make. Brownie Points and a tray of cookies for the table after the burgers come off, meaning he finally gets to sit down.
For the sweet tooth
You know the one. The dad who finishes his plate and starts eyeing yours. Pair a bag of good local coffee or a six-pack from a local brewery with Double Trouble PB Choco Chip cookies for the peanut-butter-and-chocolate diehard, or Glazed Lemon cookies for the rare man who passes on chocolate. Send a dozen and watch them not make it to Monday.
For the dad who lives far away
Distance is the hard one. Put a real video call on the calendar instead of a text, and send something that shows up at his door the same week. A Hug Disguised as a Cookie™ does exactly that: a single cookie with a personalized note, packaged like a gift and shipped anywhere in the country. He opens it and knows exactly who it is from.

What to Bring to Every Summer Cookout, Pool Day, and Get-Together
