What is a Hug Disguised as a Cookie™?

It's a greeting card you can eat. A Hug Disguised as a Cookie™ is one cookie in its own package, paired with a personalized gift note and mailed to someone you're thinking of. You pick the cookie, write your message, and we handle the rest. And when one cookie isn't enough, we also offer boxes and trays. See how it works.

What ingredients do you use?

At Little Miss Moffitt, we believe great cookies start with great ingredients. Every product is made with real butter, pure vanilla extract, real lemon juice (not from concentrate) and zest, whole grain oats, and real chocolate. We choose our ingredients with care and bake every batch fresh, because when you're sending a Hug Disguised as a Cookie™ it should taste like it came straight from someone's kitchen.

A few details we're proud of: we use only unbleached, unbromated flour, and our seedless raspberry jam gets its color from concentrates of sweet potato, radish, apple, safflower, and lemon.

Are your cookies safe for people with food allergies?

We want to be upfront about this one: everything we make is produced on shared equipment. Ingredients are listed under each product in our shop. We do not offer gluten-free options, and while we do have one vegan product, it is also made on shared equipment. If you have a food allergy, please do not eat our products. Your safety matters more to us than a sale.

How long do the cookies stay fresh?

Because everything is baked with real ingredients and no preservatives, treats are best enjoyed within 3 days of receipt. Bars should be kept refrigerated. Both cookies and bars freeze beautifully for up to 3 months; just thaw and enjoy.

How quickly do orders ship?

Most orders are processed within 24 hours. During the summer months we prefer not to ship Thursday through Saturday, so your cookies never sit on a delivery truck over a hot weekend. Larger orders can take 1 to 2 weeks, especially during the November and December gifting season, so the earlier you order, the better.

Do you ship nationwide?

Yes, we ship anywhere in the United States (no overseas shipping, sorry, faraway friends), and every gift order includes its own personalized gift note. We do not use insulated packaging or ice packs. Bars ship best to cooler climates or during cooler months, so you'll see a quick acknowledgment checkbox when you add them to your order.

One favor: please double-check your shipping address, including any suite or apartment number. Carriers return incomplete addresses to sender, and because our products are perishable, a returned order cannot be resent.

How does corporate gifting work?

Our corporate gifting page keeps it simple. Order by the number of items in an assortment or by price point, and we curate the flavors so you don't have to sweat the details.

We don't offer discounts. The food industry has been hit especially hard by inflation over the last several years, with the cost of quality ingredients, packaging, ribbons, labels, and shipping all rising significantly. Our pricing reflects what it actually costs to deliver a beautiful, delicious product from our kitchen to your door, and we keep it consistent across all order sizes so we can continue doing what we love without cutting corners on quality.

Do you donate to community organizations or fundraisers?

We do! Giving back is important to us, and we're proud to support causes close to our heart, particularly those benefiting single mothers and military families. While we wish we could say yes to every request we receive, as a small business our capacity to donate is limited. We're grateful for every organization doing good in the world and appreciate your understanding.

Is Little Miss Moffitt a women-owned business?

Yes. Little Miss Moffitt is a women-owned business, founded in 2016 by Karen Moffitt, a Philadelphia-area baker and graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program. We ship cookies and bars nationwide as everyday treats, gift boxes, and corporate gifts.
